How to Talk with Your Kids About Vaping
Before the talk: Know the facts, understand why youth start and continue vaping, and be ready to listen without judgment.
Start naturally: Use real-life moments and open-ended questions like: What do you know about vaping? What do you think about it? How does it make you feel?
Answer with facts: Most vapes contain nicotine and other chemicals that can affect brain development, attention, memory, mood, and lungs. Vapes may be safer than cigarettes, but they are not safe.
Keep it ongoing: This is not one conversation. Stay calm, repeat key points, and keep support open.
